Where the money actually stops
A bookmaker payout is a merchant disbursement into a mobile money wallet, and the wallet has tiers set by the Bank of Ghana. At the lowest tier a wallet cannot receive more than a fixed amount in a day, cannot receive more than a fixed amount in a month, and cannot hold more than a fixed balance at rest.
The monthly figure is the one that catches people, because it cannot be worked around by splitting a payout across consecutive days. The daily one can. The monthly one is the wall.
The two higher tiers carry no monthly ceiling at all, so the answer is an upgrade rather than a schedule.
What that means in practice
A large win either goes to a bank account or is taken in pieces across more than one month. Bank transfer is the one rail those wallet tiers do not touch, and it is slower than mobile money everywhere both are published, which is a trade a reader should get to make knowingly.
One book on our list caps a bank withdrawal higher than a mobile money one for exactly this reason.
Moving money between networks is not the problem
Money moves across MTN, Telecel and AirtelTigo wallets through the national switch, and a punter reaches it from the short code they already use. So the network a payout lands on is a low-stakes choice.
What that does not do is let anybody pick a different network at the cashier. A payout goes to the wallet the account was registered with, and moving it afterwards is a separate step.
