What this site records

What is recorded

• The page you are on, the referring page if your browser sends one, your browser’s language and the width of the window.
• A click on an outbound link to a bookmaker, with the bookmaker’s name and the page it was clicked from.
• A single signal, sent once, saying that something on the page was scrolled, tapped or typed on. It exists to tell a person apart from an automated crawler and it carries nothing else.

Each of those carries a random identifier generated when the page loads and thrown away when the tab closes. It is not linked to anything, does not persist between pages and cannot be used to recognise anybody on a return visit.

What is not recorded

• Names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or payment details. Nothing on this site asks for any of them.
• An advertising profile, a cross-site identifier or anything sold to a third party.
• Anything you do after leaving for a bookmaker. What happens on their site is theirs and is covered by their own policy.

The outbound link

A link to a bookmaker passes through an interstitial page on this domain, which records the click and forwards you. That page sends no referrer, so the bookmaker is not told which article you came from.

Those interstitials exist only for the bookmakers on the list. There are none for the books we left off.

Third parties

The measurement beacon is served from this domain. If a third-party analytics tag is ever added it will be named here before it ships, and it is not present today.
